The
Land Between The Lakes National
Recreation Area, or LBL, is truly a
must-see when you visit Paris.
Just 30 minutes to the east, LBL offers
so much for tourist and the locals
alike. You'll find numerous campgrounds,
both established and in the
secluded backcountry. Boat ramps on bays
from both Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley
provide excellent fishing and other
recreational opportunities.
Historic sites can be found throughout
LBL, including the Great Western Iron
Furnace, The Homeplace 1850s,
cemeteries, and so much more. A
specialty in LBL is the wildlife. Deer,
elk, buffalo, bobcats, and other animals
can be found in the wild or in nature
centers. Scenic drives can also be found
off The Trace Parkway, the 45-mile,
north-south highway though the middle of
LBL. For more information, visit
www.lbl.org.
